No contiene sustancias tóxicas y es biodegradable. El suelo agrícola en el que se utiliza el polímero de Kiara adquiere así las capacidades de una esponja superabsorbente: permite que el agua de lluvia se filtre más lentamente, la almacena durante mucho más tiempo y la libera a las plantas durante un largo periodo de tiempo, por lo que crecen mejor y sobreviven con mayor facilidad las sequías.
